Halton Hills lies at the edge of the Escarpment, with rolling hills, limestone and field stones of other types, deep ravines, a truly Canadian landscape with Canadian weather. Over the last century and a half local settlers have built dwellings from materials at hand: limestone, field stones of other types and wood. This local stone house represents story and safe shelter from our Canadian winters. I feel the warmth of a farm kitchen, hear the conversation of a family gathered to taste winter’s comfort food, while the storms outside build spectacular monuments.
